Type locality. New Taipei city, Hsinhsien (信賢), 24°50’02”N, 121°31’32”E, 200 m. GoogleMaps

Type material (n= 9). Holotype ♂ ( TARI): Taipei: Hsinhsien (信賢), 7.V.2011, leg. M.- H. Tsou . Paratypes: 2♂♂, 2♀♀ (TARI), same as holotype; 1♀ ( TARI), Erhzuping (二子坪), 29.IV.2016, leg. C.- F. Lee ; 2♂♂, 1♀ ( TARI), Tsaikungkengshan (菜公坑山), 2.V.2012, leg. S.- F. Yu

Description. Aedeagus concave and narrow, sides basally and gradually widened; apico-lateral angles angulate, extremely wide in lateral view, bases of apico-lateral angles sharply arcuate; middle of apical margin with a long, slender tube-like process, extremely wide in lateral view, apex slightly medially depressed; dorsal process subapically slightly swollen in dorsal and lateral views, apex pointed, subapically angulate in lateral view ( Figs 10 View FIGURES 10 A–10B). Ventrite V ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10 C) not modified in female, apical margin narrowly rounded, sometimes medially depressed. Gonocoxae reduced. Ventrite VIII ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10 D) heart-shaped, with extremely short spiculum and dense elongate setae along apical margins of triangulate processes. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10 E) with apex pointed and dense setae on disc. Receptacle of spermatheca ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10 F) weakly swollen, barely separated from pump, pump much narrower and longer, sharply curved; proximal spermathecal duct long and narrow.

Diagnosis. Siemssenius tsoui sp. nov. is characterized its sharply arcuate bases of the apical-lateral angles of the aedeagus ( Figs 10 View FIGURES 10 A–10B).

Host plants. Lonicera hypoglauca Miq., 1866 (Caprifoliaceae) ( Figs 3 View FIGURES 3 D, 3E); Hydrangea angustipetala Hayata, 1911 (Saxifragaceae) ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 3 F).

Etymology. This new species is named after Mr. Mei-Hua Tsou, a member of the TCRT and first to collect this new species.

Distribution. Lowlands in northern Taiwan (Taipei county and city) ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ).
