The genus is monospecific with the egg of Lampides boeticus (Linnaeus) having a very small micropylar area surrounded by a flattened area of cells with a rhomboid shape. The lateral zone has triangular cells, with their apex elevated forming rounded tubercles at the end and gathered together to form a pattern of hexagons. The annular area has smooth bottomed cells while the rest of the egg has cells with their bottom showing a rough and irregular reticulum.
