Type species: Acridium gracile Haan , by subsequent designation

We do not present generic diagnosis since it is not informative. That is because genus Hedotettix does not possess strong diagnostic characters by which it could be easily differentiated from genera Tetrix , Paratettix and Euparatettix . Zheng & Zeng (2010) presented generic diagnosis which is very general and almost all characters are mentioned to be very variable, thus currently not applicable in taxonomy.
