Elcaribe anguilla Webb View in CoL spec. nov.

(Figs. 219, 220, 234, 248, 262, 276, 290, 304, 318, 332, 344, 356)

Etymology

This species is named after the island of Anguilla from where this species was collected and is used as a noun in apposition.

Diagnosis

Elcaribe anguilla is taxonomically associated with E. longicaudus and E. paniculus in having an anterodorsal patch of short, dark brown to black setae on the gena and an enlarged hypoproct (Fig. 219) with a rounded, coneshaped, posterior margin. Elcaribe anguilla differs from E. longicaudus and E. paniculus in lacking dorsocentral macrosetae and having the apicoventral surface of hypoproct (Fig. 220) enlarged and directed ventrally.

Description of holotype male (MEI 040248)

Tergite 8 and epandrium (Fig. 219), setae dark brown. Hypoproct (Fig. 219) large, triangular with medial anteroposterior groove; setae dark brown; lateral view (Fig. 220) apical third bent ventrally forming large projection. Sternite 8 ( Fig. 234), posterior margin emarginate. Gonocoxite ventral view ( Fig. 234), basal third bulbous, rounded laterally, anteromedial margin sinuate, posterior twothirds tapered to thick point, setae dark yellow with small patch of short dark yellow setae anteromedially; dorsal view ( Fig. 248) gonocoxal bridge moderately large; lateral view ( Fig. 262) basal half rounded, tapering apically to thick point; ventral lobe ( Fig. 234) with ventral spines.
