(Figs. 230, 244, 258, 272, 286, 300, 314, 328, 341, 353, 357)

Etymology

This species is named after Aubrey G. Scarbrough who collected numerous specimens of this species on the Island of San Salvador and the name is treated as a noun in apposition.

Diagnosis

Elcaribe scarbroughi is taxonomically associated with E. laticornis and E. obscurus in having an anterodorsal patch of dark, short setae on the gena; in lacking anteroventral and posteroventral macrosetae on the midfemur; and in having elongate, dark macrosetae along ventromedial margin of the gonocoxite in ventral view ( Fig. 244). Elcaribe scarbroughi differs from E. laticornis and E. obscurus in having the posteromedial projections of the gonocoxite in ventral view ( Fig. 244) almost touching medially. It differs from E. obscurus in having the anterior half of the ejaculatory apodeme ( Fig. 300) clavate and flattened dorsoventrally in crosssection with a short ventral carina

.
