Synonym: Hypalocrinus springeri Clark, 1909a: 650 ; Hypalocrinus ornatus Clark, 1909a: 651 ; Teliocrinus asper Döderlein, 1912: 22 (pars.); Comastrocrinus springeri Clark, 1912: 254 ; Comastrocrinus ornatus Clark, 1912: 257 ; Teliocrinus springeri, Clark, 1932: 388 .

Diagnosis: Subspecies of T. springeri with strongly serrated arms, arm syzygies usually with vermiculated facets, usually 10 (35%) or 11 (50%) internodals per noditaxis, moderate internodal thickness (H / D <0.4 in adults), and cirri that are usually longer than in the other subspecies.

Locus typicus: As for the species.

Occurrence: East Arabian Sea, Laccadive Islands, off Madras, Adaman Islands, and south Sumatra; depth range 915–1280 m.
