Diagnosis. Head with wrinkle-like sculpture dorsally, but becoming smooth ventrally. Mesoscutum and mesoscutellum, including axillula, areolate. Mesoscutal sidelobes strongly protruding.
No other species in this group has a similar face ( Fig. 132 View FIGURES 131–136 ). This species is also distinctive in having strongly protruding mesoscutal sidelobes ( Fig. 134 View FIGURES 131–136 ), but this is an apparently variable feature in some other species.
Description. Female. Length 3.1 mm.
Color: Head and mesosoma blue to green, with yellow luster. Pedicel pale brown; anellus pale brown; flagellum brown. Coxae brown; fore femur mostly brown, tips pale; mid and hind femora yellow. Fore wing hyaline; venation brown. Petiole blue to purple; gaster brown with purple luster.
Head: Head width:head height 1.2; face reticulate with wrinkle-like sculpture dorsally, becoming smooth ventrally; longitudinal groove between eye and torulus present; eyes bare, inter-ocular distance:eye height 1.8; malar space:eye height 0.9; supraclypeal area longer than broad, mostly smooth but with weak sculpture laterally; clypeus smooth to weakly sculptured. Flagellum length:head height 1.9; F2 2.9× as long as broad, 1.0× as long as F3; following funiculars progressively shorter and broader.
Mesosoma: Mesosoma length:height 1.4. Mesoscutal midlobe areolate-reticulate, with minute setae; lateral lobe areolate-reticulate. Axilla areolate-reticulate; mesoscutellar disc areolate; frenal line irregularly foveate; frenum areolate; axillular groove anteriorly narrow, broad and foveate posteriorly; axillula areolate. Propodeum with irregular median carina; propodeal disc areolate to areolate-reticulate; callus areolate-reticulate, with 3–5 setae. Mesepisternum reticulate to areolate-reticulate laterally, smooth ventrally, broadly rounded anterior to mid coxa. Upper mesepimeron smooth; lower mesepimeron areolate-reticulate; transepimeral sulcus distinct. Metepisternum smooth dorsally, areolate-reticulate ventrally. Hind coxa 2.1× as long as broad; hind femur 6.7× as long as broad. Fore wing 1.9× as long as broad, 2.0× as long as mesothorax; stigma with 4 sensilla forming an Lshape. Hind wing costal cell with a broad bare area.
Metasoma: Petiole 5.2× as long as broad, 1.8× as long as hind coxa, areolate, anterior carina moderate. Antecostal sulcus crossed by carinae; acrosternite posteriorly angulate.
Male. unknown.
Distribution. Guatemala.
