Vernacular Names: Greater Dwarf Lemur.

Synonyms: Cheirogaleus commersonii Wolf 1822 ; Cheirogaleus griseus Lesson 1840 ; Cheirogaleus milii É. Geoffroy St. Hilaire 1828 ; Cheirogaleus typicus A. Smith 1833 ; Cheirogaleus typus F. Cuvier 1842 .

Distribution: E Madagascar: Antongil Bay south to nearly 23°S.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA – Endangered; IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
