Lectotype (Farjon & Jarvis in Greuter, Regnum Veg. 128: 110. 1993): Herb. Linn. No. 1135.14 ( LINN) .

Current name: Abies balsamea (L.) Mill. ( Pinaceae ).

Note: Farwell (in Bull. Torrey Bot. Club 41: 626. 1914) noted that Linnaeus’ concept included more than one species, but did not typify the name.
