Specimens from Sichuan Prov. resemble A. triprocessa sp. nov. externally, but specimens from Yunnan Prov. have body yellowish, eyes and basal of mesonotum triangles blackish, fore wing brown. In addition, specimens from Yunnan Prov. are much longer than those from Sichuan Prov., and females from Yunnan are shorter than males.
Male genitalia: Pygofer with about 2 macrosetae at cephalo-ventral angle of lobe ( Fig. 8a View FIGURE 8 ), apex of dorsal appendage bifurcated, forcipiform, upper tooth nearly as long as the lower one ( Fig. 8b View FIGURE 8 ). Style with subapical tooth about twice as long as apical tooth ( Figs 8d, e View FIGURE 8 ). Aedeagal shaft straight, with pair of subapical processes long; preatrial process long, reaching gonopore; gonopore subapical ( Figs 8g, h View FIGURE 8 ).
Measurement: Male 3.15–3.75mm, female 3.17–3.60mm.
Material examined: Holotype: ♂ [ NWAFU], CHINA: Yunnan Prov., Lijiang , 1800m, grass, 13.xi.1999, coll. I. Dworakowska . Paratypes: 4♂♂ 7♀♀ [ NWAFU], same data as holotype ; 1♂ [ NWAFU], CHINA: Yunnan Prov., Lijiang , 2300m, holly, 13.xi.1999, coll. Qin Daozheng ; 5♂♂ 13♀♀ [ NWAFU], CHINA: Sichuan Prov., Huding, Moxi , 1650m, 5.xi.1999, light trap, coll. I. Dworakowska.
Remarks: The new species is similar to A. falcata sp. nov., but can be distinguished by the longer branches of the pygofer dorsal appendage, aedeagal shaft straight and shorter, and dorsal apodeme broader in lateral view.
Etymology: The specific epithet is derived from the Latin words “ forcipis ” and “ formis ”, referring to the forcipiform apex of pygofer dorsal appendage.
