Euchomenella Giglio-Tos, 1916

Slender and elongated, stick-mimicking mantids. Eight very similar species in SE Asia, three confirmed in Borneo. Arboricolous, found both in the understorey and at forest edges. Males are capable flyers and frequently attracted to lights. Angelinae (sensu Beier 1964, 1968 & Ehrmann 2002) is polyphyletic, as suggested by molecular data (Svenson & Whiting 2009).

Euchomenella heteroptera ( De Haan, 1842) §

Mantis heteroptera De Haan, 1842: 78 , pl. 18, fig. 1 (m)

Distribution. Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, S Java, Borneo, N Sulawesi, Philippines ( Giglio-Tos 1927, Roy 2001, Ehrmann 2002).
