Diagnosis. Males resemble those of Miturgopelma echidna sp. nov., but the median apophysis is very distal and there are no “tiger” marks on the dark, mottled opisthosoma, and differs from those of M. australiensis by the shorter dorsal lobe of the RTA. Female epigyne with roughly V-shaped ridges.
Etymology. The species epithet is a noun in apposition from one of the localities where the species has been recorded.

Description. Male, holotype QM S70924.
Carapace 4.70 long, 3.60 wide. Opisthosoma 4.10 long, 2.45 wide. Total 8.8.
I: 5.25, 2.00, 5.00, 4.65, 2.90, 19.80. II: 5.00, 1.90, 4.70, 5.00, 3.25, 19.85. III: 5.00, 2.00, 4.50, 5.20, 3.10, 19.80. IV: 6.50, 1.90, 5.70, 7.65, 3.90, 25.65. Palp: 3.14, 1.37, 1.27, 0.00, 2.65, 8.43.
Colour: Carapace pattern: dark bands along caput edge, dark scallops laterally on carapace; opisthosoma, dorsally dark, mottled with long ovoid paired pallid regions flanking poorly defined medial dark band; ventrally none, pallid; femora with weakly discernible mottling.
Eyes: All similar, small; ALE clearly smallest. Posterior row more or less overlapping; PME and PLE inner edges well separated. Legs moderately long. Spines: Femora pv1 on I–IV; tibia I, II p2d3–4r2 on I, II; palp fe with p1; ti with d1–2; cymbium 0. Palp: tibia and patella similar sized; cymbial hairs all similar; retrobasally with a short flattened, partially grooved ridge transverse basally; apex of ventral lobe rounded; ventral lobe long; ventral plate a long lobe apically rounded, dorsal plate apically spine like; RTA distal; short, directed laterally; two plates sandwiching unsclerotised zone; base of ventral lobe with triangular process; ventral plate a long lobe apically rounded; dorsal plate apically spine like; embolus central, directed transversely prolateral.

Distribution. Known from Toomba Station, Carnarvon Gorge, Gayndah and Bogantungan on the Great Dividing Range, Queensland.
