Adults of Natarsia punctata (Meigen, 1804) were collected near the muskeg just northeast of Headquarters Lake, Kenai Peninsula, in mid-June by Bowser et al. (2020). Their identification was based on molecular evidence. Vallenduuk & Moller-Pillot (2007) have similarly found the larvae of this species in sphagnum bogs in the Netherlands.
