Diagnosis. The forewing length is 14.5–16.0 mm in males and 18.0– 18.5 mm in females. The male genital capsule of the new species is most similar to P. settelei but differs in the longer and distally broader uncus, the somewhat longer vinculum, the narrower setose apex of the valva, and the broader setose apex of the distal saccular process. The phallus of P. lourensi is broader and somewhat narrower than in P. settelei . Compared to P. settelei , the vesica of the new species is longer and proximally broader, and has longer and broader diverticula bearing larger terminal cornuti. The female genitalia of the two species are similar but in P. lourensi , the ductus bursae is longer, the rugose posterior area of the corpus bursae is shorter, and the signa are somewhat smaller than the corresponding structures of P. settelei .

Distribution. The new species is known from the islands of Luzon, Negros and Mindoro (the Philippines).

Etymology. The new species is named after Dr Johannes H. Lourens, a dedicated researcher of the Lepidoptera fauna of the Philippines and collector of the part of the type series including the holotype. The name is a noun in the genitive case.
