S. transylvanicum View in CoL is sometimes also cited in the synonymy of J. heuffelii View in CoL (e.g., Jalas et al. 1999). It appeared in the classified list of the species of the genus Sempervivum ( Baker 1874) View in CoL , but without a description. An affiliation of S. transylvanicum View in CoL to the J. heuffelii View in CoL group is indicated by Baker (1874: 104), quoting the name S. ciliatum Schur View in CoL as its synonym. The name with the same epithet in varietal rank – S. hirtum var. transsylvanicum Andrae (1853: 472) refers to a taxon from the J. globifera View in CoL group.
