Lectotype (designated here):— MONTENEGRO. District of Podgorica :“Dr.Ign.de Szyszyłowicz:Iter montenegrinum 1886. Sempervivum heuffelii f. glabrum Beck et Szyszyłowicz. Ad latera montis Dziebeze [slopes of Mount Debeza], 31 July 1886 ” Szyszyłowicz s.n. ( PRC 452139!, herbarium Beck , the uppermost specimen on the sheet [ Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ]; isolectotype, W 1886-0011629 ! [ Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 ]). Remaining syntypes ::— MONTENEGRO. Notes:—In 1886 Szyszyłowicz travelled to Montenegro and Albania. Based on his collection, new taxa were described ( Beck & Szyszyłowicz 1888). As Ignaz von Szyszyłowicz (1857–1910) was an assistant at W, most of his material is held there ( Stafleu & Cowan 1986: 145). Günther Ritter Beck von Mannagetta und Lerchenau (1856–1931) was employed as professor and curator also at W, but later moved to Prague ( Stafleu & Cowan 1976: 157). His original material is stored in W and PRC. We verified several specimens of original material of S. heuffelii var. glabrum deposited in W ( W 1886-0011626, W 1886-0011627, W 1886-0011628, W 1886-0011629), which correspond with the localities given in the protologue: “ In dumetis pagi Orahovo ; in saxosis aversus Rupa Końska sub monte Vila; ad latera montis Dziebeze; in praeruptis summi montis Dziebeze; in praeruptis summi montis Hum Orahovski. ” The original material found in PRC (n. 452139) includes an exact date “31. VII.” and well preserved leaves of the rosette. Its uppermost specimen is selected here as the lectotype of S. heuffelii var. glabrum because fits well with the original description – “ Foliis omnibus utrinque glabris, in margine ciliatis mucronatisque, inflorescentia glaberrima. ”
