Type Locality: Brazil, SE area along the Río Uruguay (as restricted by Hershkovitz, 1966 c:120) .

Vernacular Names: Woolly Kunsia.

Synonyms: Kunsia gnambiquarae (Mirando Ribeiro 1914) ; Kunsia principalis (Lund 1840) .

Distribution: NE Bolivia (Beni and Santa Cruz Depts.—Anderson, 1993, 1997) and WC Brazil (Mato Grosso); Pleistocene cave samples in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.

Discussion: Rare in collections; range inadequately known. See Massoia and Fornes (1965) and Hershkovitz (1966 c) for justification of synonymy.
