Remarks. Brenske (1898: 355) included the name Chrysoserica with Mericserica (in Brenske 1898: unavailable name) in the same couplet and gave no further morphological differentiation, nor included a species name with Chrysoserica . Consequently, according to Article 12 ( International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature 1999) the name Chrysoserica ( Brenske 1898) is not available. A complete description, including species names, was published in the next fascicle ( Brenske 1899a). The genus was recently revised by Ahrens (2001a).
