Material examined. ‘ Carventus machadoi n. sp. ’: 1♀ ( Fig. 5 ), ‘ Dundo, R.Cambuacola [hw] / Angola: [p] 2.VIII.60(M) [hw] / Mus. Do Dundo [p] // Ang. Comment. All African species of Carventus Stål, 1865 were transferred to the genus Burgeonia Schouteden, 1919 by Kormilev & Froeschner (1987). The single female specimen cannot be identified due to the lack of comparative material and no available key to species. Hence the purported type material of ‘ Carventus machadoi ’ probably belongs to Burgeonia but its identity remains unknown.
