Distribution
Palearctic species ( Majka and Klimaszewski 2012): Central-southern Europe, Russia (European, Siberia, Far East), Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Israel, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Japan and Nepal; introduced into Canada ( ITIS Species 2000 2020, Pace 2005). In Italy, the species is currently known only for the peninsula ( Ruffo and Stoch 2005).
Notes
Found in open areas under vegetation, stone, mosses and decomposing materials. A very eurytopic species adapted to a wide range of ground conditions: it can be found on dry, heathy and sandy soils; on damp loam and in humic soils; in wet soil and Sphagnum . Often found in proximity of ants ( Majka and Klimaszewski 2012).
