2. Amorbia stenovalvae Phillips & Powell View in CoL , new species

DIAGNOSIS. Amorbia stenovalvae can be distinguished by the concolorous head and frons and the valvae narrower than in other Amorbia species.
DESCRIPTION. MALE. FW length 12.4–12.7 mm (mean = 12.5; n = 5). HEAD: Frons convex, scaled, concolorous with head. Vertex brownish, antenna brownish with pale scales. Labial palpus with junction of segment III and II an oblique angle, concolorous with head scaling laterally, paler on inner surface. THO- RAX: Dorsum smooth scaled, brownish; tegula concolorous. FW ground color light brown, median fascia dark brown from costa to M 2, ending in a round patch of dark scales, subterminal fasciae including apex dark brown especially toward costa; costal fold absent. HW ground color light, except for patch of darker scales at apex. ABDOMEN: Dorsal pit absent. Genitalia as in Fig. 63 (slide # EPR11, VBC, Mexico, Tamaulipas; n = 2). Uncus developed and extending beyond socii. Transtilla rectangular with evenly distributed spines. Sacculus well defined, ending before distal margin of valva, emarginate. Valva narrow. Aedeagus 0.6X length of valva, slightly bent at middle .
FEMALE. Unknown.

DISTRIBUTION AND BIOLOGY. This species has been collected in Guatemala and Mexico, from 250 to 2000 m elevation ( Fig. 133). The biology and immatures are unknown.
ETYMOLOGY. The species name is derived from the Greek “stenos” meaning narrow, which refers to the narrow valva of this species.
