Type Locality: Perú, Puno Dept., Valley of Río Inambari, Santo Domingo Mine, 6000 ft (1830 m).

Vernacular Names: White-tailed Akodont.

Synonyms: Lenoxus boliviae Sanborn 1950 .

Distribution: Cloud forest of E Andean slopes, about 1500-2500 m, in SE Perú and WC Bolivia (La Paz Dept.).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Anderson (1997) used boliviae as subspecies for the Bolivian populations.
