Description. Head without keels or medial impression; eyes divided by genae in dorsal and ventral part, tempora distinctly extended posteriorly rectangular, with erect, acute setation; antennomeres completely separated. Pronotum broad with rounded corners, with medial impression, without keels, lateral margins completely unbordered; prosternal process not protruced backwards. Elytra elongate-oval, widest at middle, humeral angles rounded without teeth, elytra lacking rows of punctures or keels, surface wrinkled, lateral margins rounded, unbordered; epipleura without row of punctures. Ventrites with extremely fine, scattered punctures, surface shining. Tibiae oval in crosssection, without longitudinal keels or impressions, tarsi of all legs short. Aedeagus ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 7–12 ) with long parallel apicale with rounded apex, basale long, narrow. Females not dissected.
Diagnosis. The eyes are divided into dorsal and ventral part, thus Shanosis gen. nov. is placed into the subtribe Dichillina . To be recognised by the extended, posteriorly directed, rectangular tempora, by head without keels or medial impression, by nearly round shape of pronotum with medial impression and with unbordered lateral margins, and by elytra without rows of punctures or keels. Type species. Shanosis renei sp. nov. by present designation.
Composition. Monotypic.
Etymology. Named in honour of the human ethnic group Shan, from central Myanmar ( Burma).
