Paracobitis vignai Nalbant and Bianco, 1998 – Native ( Fig. 350)

Paracobitis vignai Nalbant [T. T.] & Bianco [P. G.] 1998: 115; Type locality: Helmand River delta, Sistan, Zabol, Nahr-Taheri, Iran.

Holotype: IZA 7838 . Paratypes: ISBB uncat. (7), IZA 7839 (24).

Common name: Pr: Loch-e tajdar-e Zabol, Sagmahi-e tajdar-e Zabol, En: Zabol crested loach.

Diagnosis: Always miss identify by small size or juvenile specimens of P. rhadinaeus , it is very rare species and occurs in limited numbers. Absence of scales, caudal fin deeply emarginate or slightly furcate and posterior nasal opening is slit-shaped can be diagnostic.

Meristic characters: D: 7, A: 5, P: 10, V: 6–7, LL: complete, SC: naked, DP: large and blunt, PA: present, SOG: present.

Distribution: Sistan basin ( Fig. 351). Found in Hari River and Chah nime Lakes. Esmaeili et al. (2017 2018) regarding P. vignai as Iranian endemic but it found in the Hirmand River which shared between Iran and Afghanistan, so we cannot include this spices as endemic.

Taxonomy.

Conservation: IUCN: Not Evaluated, PC: Data Deficient. This species is found in both Iran and Afghanistan. Due to the lack of the information on the population size and distribution of this species, we did not believe that there were enough data to objectively asses its conservation status.
