Oxynoemacheilus kiabii Golzarianpour View in CoL [K.], Abdoli [A.] & Freyhof [J.] 2011: 202; Type locality: Stream Dehnoo, 3 km west of Nahavand on road from Nahavand to Sarab-e-Gamasiab, 34°10'N, 48°24'E, Hamadan Province, Iran. Holotype: ZFMK 41847. Paratypes: FCKG 8658 (8), 8659 (7); FSJF 3003 (7), 3004 (2).

Common name: Pr: Loch-e Kiabi, Sagmahi-e Kiabi, En: Kiabi loach.

Diagnosis: Two, rarely one or three lateral pores in the supratemporal canal and no central pore, no suborbital flap or groove in males, caudal fin slightly emarginated, lateral line incomplete, reaching dorsal fin base, long head (26–30% SL), short pectoral fin, dorsal adipose crest shallow, reaching from vertical of base of last anal fin ray to anterior part of caudal fin, distinct, large, vertically elongated blotches on flank, most prominent behind dorsal fin base.

Meristic characters: D: 8, A: 5, P: 10, V: 8, LL: incomplete, reaching the level of the dorsal fin, SC: naked except end of caudal peduncle, DP: small and pointed, PA: present, SOG: absent.

Distribution: Tigris basin ( Fig. 315). Found in Gamasiab and Dinevar Rivers.

Taxonomy.

Conservation: IUCN: Not Evaluated, PC: Endangered B2ab(i,ii,iii). This species is found in Dehno, upper Gamasiab river, Dinevar river and Sarab e Ravansar (<5 localities), which result in a reduced area of occupancy (<500 km 2). This species is highly affected by water extraction, industrial pollution and loss of habitat. Across the distribution range of this species illegal electrofishing is practiced to catch other species which kill many individuals of this species as a by catch. Therefore, we classified it as Endangered.
