Glyptothorax silviae Coad View in CoL [B. W.] 1981: 291; Type locality: Stream 3 km south of Bagh-e Malek, Khuzestan, Iran, 31°29'00"N, 49°54'30"E, elevation 660 m. Holotype: NMC 79–0390A. Paratypes: NMC 79–0280 (1), 79–0389 (1), 79–0390B (1).

Common name: Pr: Gorbe mahi Jonobi, En: Southern sucking catfish.

Diagnosis: The head and body dorsolaterally lack striated or elongate tubercles (present in G. kurdistanicus ), the thoracic adhesive apparatus is longer than wide (the reverse in G. kurdistanicus ) and the caudal peduncle is long (4.7–5.4 in standard length, 5.9–6.0 in G. kurdistanicus ).

Meristic characters: D: II 6–7 (6), A: II 7–9 (8), P: 7–9, V: 5, GR: 7–8, TV: 34–35.

Distribution: Tigris and Persis basins ( Fig. 403). Found in Behesht Abad, Seymareh, Mond, Kohmarreh Sorkhi, Marun, Cholvar, Rud-e Zard and Jarahi Rivers.

Taxonomy.

Conservation: IUCN: Not Evaluated, PC: Least Concern. Populations of this species are found in many independent localities across its distribution range. Therefore, we classified it as Least Concern.
