Taxonomy.
Conservation: IUCN: Not Evaluated, PC: Critically Endangered B2ab(i,ii,iii,iv,v). Even after extensive effort sampling the type locality and its surroundings by many colleagues, the species has not been found. In addition, the region has suffered drastically from the recent years’ drought, drying permanently or periodically many rivers of the region. Therefore, the species may be extinct, although as some very isolated and not accessible points have not been checked extensively and there is also the possibility of finding some individuals in dam reservoirs, we therefore classified it as Critically Endangered, possibly Extinct (on a precautionary basis), and recommend more surveys.
