Garra mondica Sayyadzadeh, Esmaeili and Freyhof, 2015 – Endemic ( Fig. 124)

Garra mondica Sayyadzadeh [G.], Esmaeili [H. R.] & Freyhof [J.] 2015: 78; Konar Siyah spring at Firuzabd, Fars Province, Iran, 28°43'40"N, 52°25'20"E. Holotype: ZM-CBSU H1032. Paratypes: all in ZM-CBSU H1033 (8), K1080 (7), B242 (1), B250 (1), B255 (1).

Common name: Pr: Gekhorak Mond, Gel cheragh Mond, En: Mond garra.

Diagnosis: A naked breast and anterior belly, a naked mid-dorsal area in front of the dorsal fin origin or dorsal midline with only few, usually embedded scales.

Meristic characters: D: III 7–8 (7), A: III 5, P: 12– 14, V: 7–8, GR: 18–23, LL: 28–34, TV: 33–36 (34–35).

Distribution: Persis basin ( Fig. 125). Found in Mond River drainage.

Taxonomy.

Conservation: IUCN: Not Evaluated, PC: Vulnerable B2ab(i,ii,iii). This species is found in Mond River drainage (with an AOO of less than 2,000 km 2). The species is only found in one or two locations with threats related to habitat loss and degradation due to agriculture and pollution. We therefore classified it as Vulnerable.
