Body color yellow, pronotal blotches and abdominal segments IX and X brown in unwashed specimens. Antennal segment III with setae shorter than the length of the segment. Dorsal setae simple with pointed apex. Head with some consistent brown coloring throughout. Pronotum with a pair of sclerotized blotches. Abdominal tergite II with a pair of spiracles ( Fig. 33 View FIGURES 22–42 ); segment IX sclerotized in distal part and X completely sclerotized ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 22–42 ); segment X with six anal setae shorter than the segment length. Spiracles with one or no pores on facets ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 22–42 ). No immatures of this species have been found in Brazil or Argentina. The characterization above was based on specimens from bananas from Europe and Africa that are deposited in USNM.
