Type Locality: Kenya, summit of Aberdare Range, 10,000 ft (3048 m).
Vernacular Names: Aberdare Mountains African Mole Rat.
Distribution: Kenya, Aberdare Range, 2775-3200 m ( Hollister, 1919).
Conservation: IUCN - Vulnerable.
Discussion: A smaller-bodied and paler-furred relative of T. rex , which is endemic to high altitudes on Mt Kenya ( Hollister, 1919).
