Type locality. Surinam.

Remarks. The species was recorded in Argentina, Brazil, Surinam, Uruguay and Venezuela ( Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2007a) with questionable references to Mexico ( Sanborn 2007b). The species is reported from Cabo de San Antonio, Buenos Aires Province within Argentina ( Berg 1882).
