Diagnosis. Hind coxa polished. Legs entirely yellow. Propodeal areola not defined basally to costulae. Tergum 2 with a transverse median row of punctures. Ovipositor 0.2x longer than hind tibia.

Description. FEMALE (2 specimens). B: 2.0; A: 2.1; L: 2.2 (1.9–2.2).

Head. Moderately setose. Clypeus hardly separated from face dorsally, its ventral margin truncate. Face and clypeus shallowly and densely punctate. H i: 0.9; EH i: 0.6; C i: 3.0; Fl 1i: 3.0; Fl 2i: 3.0; FL1– 2 i: 1.0; Fl 15i: 2.5; Fl 16i: 2.5; OO i: 2.0; IO i: 1.0.

Mesosoma . Moderately setose on punctate areas. Pronotum polished, upper and lower furrows deep and crenulate. Anterior half of mesopleuron densely punctate, posterior half polished, sternaulus sharply impressed on posterior half. Metapleuron polished but posteriorly rugose, anterior pit moderately deep. Mesoscutum punctoreticulate, puncture somewhat larger posteriorly. Scuto-scutellar suture thin and shallow, crenulate. Scutellum polished with some shallow punctures laterally. MSC i: 0.6. Propodeum rugose, areola apically truncate, not defined basally to costulae, costulae strong. Fore wing. R1/Pl i: 1.3; r/Pw i: 0.9; r/2Rs i: 1.6. Hind wing. Vannal lobe regularly rounded and setose. Legs. Hind coxa polished with fine sparse punctures. Hind femur short and stout. Cx/T 1i: 1.5; F i: 3.1.

Metasoma. Tergum 1 slightly curved in profile view, in dorsal view sub-rectangular with lateral margins parallel, apical margin slightly concave, surface shallowly rugose with a smooth triangle along apical margin. Tergum 2 trapezoidal, slightly widened apically, centrally smooth and laterally rugose, with a mid-transverse row of punctures. Hypopygium ventro-medially desclerotised, ovipositor straight and short, sheath setose all along. T1a i: 1.4; T1b i: 1.6; T1/T 2i: 2.6; T2a i: 0.4; T2b i: 0.4; T2/T 3i: 1.1; OT i: 0.2.

Color. Head and mesosoma black with reddish gleams, but palpi pale yellow, and antenna, labrum and mandible yellowish orange. Legs entirely yellowish. Tergum 1 dark reddish to testaceous, laterotergite 1 pale yellow, the following tergites testaceous. Wing hyaline, venation pale brown.

MALE (1 specimen) B: 2.4; A: 2.5; L: 2.5. Similar to female.

Etymology. Named for Claire Villemant, entomologist and Curator of the hymenopteran collections of MNHN, for her invaluable support.

Genus Exoryza Mason (Mason 1981, Valerio et al. 2004)

The description of Dolichogenidea is similar to Exoryza , but with the following differences. Propodeum coarsely rugose with an areola sometimes hardly defined laterally. Terga 1 and 2 broad, covering the membranous lateroterga in dorsal view. Terga 1 and 2, and usually tergum 3, coarsely rugose. Tergum 2 rectangular or nearly so, as long to barely longer than tergum 3.

This is a small genus, with four species described up to now. It appears to parasitise Pyraloidea stem borers. It is rarely collected but appears to be broadly distributed. This is the first record from Southern Hemisphere. It is considered as a distinct genus with four recognized species based on the peculiar structure of the metasomal terga (Song and Chen 2003; Valerio et al. 2004). It nevertheless matches a wide definition of Dolichogenidea / Apanteles and is sometimes considered as a subgenus of Apanteles . One new species is decribed here.
