POMPEUS CRAMER, 1775

Pap[ilio] Eq[ues] Achiv[us] pompeus Cramer, 1775: 39 , 154, pl.25, fig. A [original plate 29, fig. A]. Batavia [= Java] (Baron Rengers).

Papilio Eques View in CoL Trojanus pompeus, Stoll, 1782b: 2 [No. 5].

Material examined. 1 ♀ with Felder label ‘Coll Eyndhov Java’ ( BMNH (E)#665109) is not a good match for Cramer’s figure and I do not consider it to be a type; it has been re-pinned and the wings have several repairs .

Current status. Junior subjective synonym of Troides (Troides) h. helena (Linnaeus, 1758) ( Matsuka, 2001) .
