MARCELLUS CRAMER, 1777

Pap[ilio] Eq[ues] Achiv[us] marcellus Cramer, 1777: 4 , 149, pl. 98, figs F, G [original plate 65, figs D, D]. USA: Virginia (Jacob Cornelis Sylvius van Lennep).

Papilio Eques View in CoL Achivus marcellus, Stoll, 1782b: 3 [No. 47].

Material examined. There is one specimen ex Felder collection but no other data ( BMNH (E)#665081). It has been re-pinned and repaired and is a fair match for Cramer’s figure. As this species was described from van Lennep’s collection it is possible that this specimen is a syntype .

Current status. Valid species in Protographium ( Häuser et al., 2003) .
