DEMOLION CRAMER, 1776

Pap[ilio] Eq[ues] Achiv[us] demolion Cramer, 1776: 140 , 152, pl.89, figs A, B [original plate 60, figs C, C]. Java, nr. Batavia (Baron Rengers).

Papilio Eques View in CoL Achivus demolion, Stoll, 1782b: 3 [No. 27].

Material examined. Although there is insufficient evidence to consider it a type, there is one specimen with Felder label ‘ Mus. Leiden’ ( BMNH (E)#665388) that is quite a good match for original plate 60, figs C, C (except that Cramer’s figure is far too green in colour); it has been re-pinned .

Remarks. This could be one of the species sent to Rengers by Drury (see above).

Current status. Valid species in Papilio (Menelaides) ( Häuser et al., 2003) .
