LIBERIA CRAMER, 1779

Pap[ilio] Pleb[ejus] Rural[is] liberia Cramer, 1779: 31 , 175, pl.210, figs G, H [original plate 179, figs D, D]. ‘Isle d’Amboine’ [= Indonesia, Ambon] (Cornelis van Lennep).

Papilio View in CoL Danaus View in CoL Candidus liberia, Stoll, 1782b: 6 [No. 77].

Material examined. 3 ♂, ex Felder collection, no other data ( BMNH (E)#665122–4), match Cramer’s plate, although the same could be said for most male specimens of this species; one has certainly been re-pinned, the others possibly so. As this species was described from van Lennep’s collection it is possible that these specimens include syntypic material .

Current status. Valid species in Saletara ( Peggie et al. 1995) .
