CANDIDA STOLL, 1780

Pap[ilio] Dan[aus] Cand[idus] candida Stoll, 1780b: 82 , 248, pl.331, fig. A [original plate 298, fig. A]. ‘Isle d’Amboine’ [= Indonesia, Ambon] (‘de ma collection. C. Stoll’).

Papilio View in CoL Danaus View in CoL Candidus candida, Stoll, 1782b: 6 [No. 76].

Material examined. No potential Stoll specimens located.

Remarks. A specimen in Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Paris with the data ‘Type (red letter)/ Dumour [sic] d’Urville?, Museum de Paris’ was designated as lectotype by Yata (1989). However, further evidence is needed before this specimen can be accepted as type material; there is nothing in the cited data to suggest any connection to Stoll.

Current status. Valid species in Eurema (Terias) ( Yata, 1992) .
