NOTES: In the descrition of this species G. Lister (1917: 121) stated “On bark and moss, Westhill and Kirkville, Skene near Aberdeen. Mr. Cran first observed this species in March 1913 in company with Hymenobolus parasiticus Zukal , on mossy bark kept under care indoors; since then it has appeared twice again on his cultures; he also found it in the open on plane bark at Kirkville in the summer of last year.” In BM we found three slides (BM s.n.). The slide BM s.n. 1 we designate here as the lectotypus, since it is one of the specimens studied by the author to describe this minute species. The other two slides are syntypes. In notebook XXXIV: 32 there is a drawing of this material that is reproduced in the publication .
