Vernacular Names: Big-eared Brown Bat.

Synonyms: Histiotus chilensis Lesson 1836 ; Histiotus poeppigii Fitzinger 1872 .

Distribution: Chile, Argentina.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Does not include laephotis ; see Autino et al. (1999) and Barquez and Diaz (2001).
