Taxonomy. First record from Lebanon as Solea vulgaris Queensel var. oegyptiaca, Chab. by Gruvel (1931: 82). Material in collection: AUBM.

Distribution. Mediterranean Sea endemic; recorded as NIS from the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea.

Conservation. IUCN: Global ( LC: 12 July 2014); Med. ( LC: 12 July 2014). Capture and threats: Unknown. Occurrence: Rare. Low priority for conservation action .
