Lectotype (Mabberley in Telopea 9: 797, ic. 2002): [icon] " Fragaria Chiloensis fructu maximo, foliis carnosis hirsutis Frez. " in Dillenius, Hort. Eltham. 1: 145, t. 120, f. 146. 1732.

Current name: Fragaria chiloensis (L.) Mill. subsp. chiloensis View in CoL View at ENA ( Rosaceae ).

Note: Staudt (in Canad. J. Bot. 40: 881. 1962) designated 654.21 (LINN) as lectotype but this collection is a post-1753 addition to the collection, and not original material for the name. Staudt (in Univ. Calif. Publ. Bot. 81: 101, f. 27. 1999) provided a picture of this specimen. Mabberley subsequently rejected Staudt’s choice in favour of the cited Dillenius figure.
