Cryptocanthon borgmeieri Vulcano, Pereira and Martinez 1976:523 View in CoL .

Holotype. Not seen. Female (?); Brasil, Rio de Janeiro ( Represa Rio Grande ), II– III.1967 e I.1968, F.M. Oliveira, colectados em armadilha de Malaise (in col. M. Alvarenga, Rio de Janeiro).

Material Examined. Brazil, 2, females: 1 paratype, Guanabara , Represa Rio Grande, III. 1967, F.M. Oliveira; 1, same locality as paratype, III.1972, F.M. Oliveira (both specimens in CMNC) .

Description. Dorsum very dark brown to black. Since the genus is monotypic, the generic description also characterizes the species.

Remarks. Since the species is flightless, it seems odd that one or more of the specimens were taken in a malaise trap.
