Pepsis cybele Banks View in CoL (black-winged variant)
ECUADOR: Napo Province, east side of Rio Napo, 3 km SW of San Vincente de Puerto Rico; 14 May 2006; J. Dougherty (ecology.org). Host: Paratropis cf scruposa Simon ( Paratropididae ), adult or subadult female. A series of photographs shows the wasp either standing by the paralyzed paratropid spider or dragging it backward on the ground, ventral side upward, grasping its coxa with her mandibles ( Dougherty 2006; J. Dougherty, Androscoggin Valley Hospital, Berlin, New Hampshire, 2019 pers. comm.).
