Material examined. Holotype (♂). JAPAN: Ryukyus, Okinawa Island, Kunigami Village , Yona , 26.76, 128.22, 21 Feb 1973, H. Hasegawa ( NIAES) ( AMNH _ PBI 00378769 About AMNH ).

Diagnosis. Currently known by a single male specimen. Most closely related to N. kyushuensis (Yasunaga) ( Fig. 2A–B View FIGURE 2 ), from which N. yonanus n. sp. can be distinguished by its ovoid body ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ); apical 3/4 of clypeus darkened ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ); antennal segment II slightly longer than metafemur; labium as long as basal width of pronotum; posterior margin of pronotum, scutellum and clavus darkened ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ); apical protuberances of parameres more developed ( Fig. 10A–D View FIGURE 10 ); and vesical spiculum tapered apically ( Figs. 9B View FIGURE 9 , 17O View FIGURE 17 ).

Description. Holotype male: Body oval ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ); dorsum pale brown (probably greenish when alive), with uniformly distributed, pale, simple, reclining setae. Head shining; vertex narrow, with basal transverse carina that is as thick as pronotal collar; apical 3/4 of clypeus darkened ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ). Antenna pale brown; apex of segment II, whole segments III and IV brown; segment II slightly longer than metafemur; segment III longer than head width across eyes. Labium shiny pale brown, reaching but not exceeding apex of metacoxa. Pronotum shining, darkened posteriorly; scutellum dark brown; pleura including scent efferent system pale brown. Hemelytra somewhat matte; clavus darkened; apical part of corium semi-circularly darkened; membrane pale smoky brown. All coxae and legs pale brown; metafemur with two brown rings that are obliterated ventrally; tibial spines brown; apex of each tarsomere III darkened. Ventral side of abdomen uniformly pale brown.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 9B View FIGURE 9 , 10A–D View FIGURE 10 , 17M–O View FIGURE 17 ): Parameres with rather developed apical protuberance on sensory lobes ( Fig. 10A–D View FIGURE 10 ); vesical spiculum almost straight, tapered and flattened apically ( Figs. 9B View FIGURE 9 , 17O View FIGURE 17 ).

Female: Unknown.

Measurements: See Table 1 View TABLE 1 .

Etymology. Named for the type locality, Yona (in Kunigami Village, North Okinawa Island); Latinized as an adjective.
