Specimens measured. MA, RS, SP (2, 2, 2).

Dorsal shield of female smooth, 346 (321–360) long and 182 (159–207) wide. Setal lengths: j1 16 (14–17), j3 20 (16–25), j4 16 (13–19), j5 16 (13–17), j6 17 (13–19), J2 20 (16–24), J5 12 (11–13), z2 19 (16–24), z4 19 (13–24), z5 16 (13–19), Z1 21 (17–24), Z4 34 (29–40), Z5 51 (41–60), s4 23 (17–29), S2 22 (17–25), S4 21 (16–24), S5 19 (14– 24), r3 18 (16–21) and R1 17 (16–22). Peritreme extending to level of j1. Distances between st1–st3 65 (62–70), st2–st2 67 (62–70), st5–st5 62 (59–65). Ventrianal shield 120 (108–132) long, 103 (92–111) wide at level of Zv2 and 78 (73–89) wide at anus level. Spermathecal calyx horn-shaped, 20 (19–22) long;; atrium forked at junction with major duct. Fixed cheliceral digit 30 (29–30) long, with four teeth; movable digit 33 (32–35) long, with one tooth. Macroseta only on basitarsus IV, sharp-tipped; StIV 59 (54–68) .

Distribution in Brazil. Bahia (Rocha et al., 2022), Goiás ( Cavalcante et al., 2017b), Maranhão ( Lofego et al., 2013), Minas Gerais ( Rezende & Lofego, 2012), Paraíba ( Moraes & McMurtry, 1983), Pernambuco ( Domingos et al., 2014), Rio Grande do Sul (Ferla et al., 2011) and São Paulo ( Denmark & Muma, 1973; Mineiro et al., 2006 a, 2006b, 2009a; Rezende & Lofego, 2012).

Distribution elsewhere. Argentina.

Remarks. Species described from Brazil. The measurements are similar to those of the original description. According to Ragusa & Athias-Henriot (1983), this species differs from N. barkeri by the presence of a gland (gd2) in the center of a triangle formed by the bases of j4-j5-z4.
