According to Gonçalves et al. (2013), dorsal shield of female mostly smooth, striate laterally, 337 (320–355) long and 213 (210–215) wide. Setal lengths: j1 21 (18–23), j3 34 (30–37), j4 8, j5 8, j6 9 (8–10), J2 10, J5 7 (5–8), z2 14 (13–15), z4 15 (13–18), z5 8, Z1 12 (10–13), Z4 43 (40–45), Z5 100 (95–105), s4 33 (30–35), S2 19 (18–20), S4 18 (15–20), S5 17 (15–18), r3 13 (10–15) and R1 14 (13–15). Peritreme extending to level of j1. Distances between st1–st3 66 (63–68), st2–st2 69 (68–70), st5–st5 67 (63–70). Ventrianal shield 114 (110–118) long, 93 (88–100) wide at level of Zv2 and 77 (70–83) at anus level. Spermathecal calyx bell-shaped, with a distinct constriction a short distance from the atrium, 16 (15–18) long; atrium bulbous. Fixed cheliceral digit 33 (30–35) long, with seven teeth; movable digit 29 (25–33) long, with three teeth. Macrosetae on all legs, sharp-tipped; SgeI 27 (25–30), SgeII 25, SgeIII 29 (28–30), StiIII 22 (20–23), SgeIV 41 (38–45), StiIV 39 (38–40) and StIV 52 (50–53) .

Distribution in Brazil. Rio Grande do Sul ( Gonçalves et al., 2013, 2015).

Distribution elsewhere. Not reported.

Remarks. Species described from Brazil and known only from the type specimens. Specimens were not examined. This species was placed in Thyphlodromips instead of Amblyseius mainly because of the reticulation of the dorsal shield and the strong barbs of setae Z4 and Z5. The position of the pre-anal pores, anteromediad Jv2, is rather unusual in Typhlodromips .
