Type: C. siamensis (Aarikanonda) Komárek, Zapomělová & Hindák (2010: 329)

Filamentous planktonic or amongst other algae in fine mucilaginous masses; trichomes isopolar, uniserial, unbranched, solitary, without sheaths, straight or slightly flexuous, short (up to 80–120 μm long), distinctly constricted at the cross-walls. Cells spherical, barrel-shaped or slightly elongate. Heterocytes terminal, spherical, ovoid or slightly oval, intercalary. Akinetes solitary or in short rows, or in the centre of short trichomes in series, oval or oval-cylindrical, slightly distant from heterocytes.
