Distribution in Iran. Golestan ( Samin et al. 2011).

General distribution. Throughout the Palaearctic region from Europe and North Africa to China, Korea, Japan.

Biology. This species attacks only Pinus (Pinaceae) ( Balachowsky 1949; Chararas 1962). In Iran it is recorded from Pinus brutia ( Samin et al. 2011) . Chararas (1962) and Fernandez (1997) give further details of the biology and gallery system.
