Daidalotarsonemus euonymus Yang et al., 1987: 160 ; Lin et al., 2000: 298; Lin & Zhang, 2002: 59.

(Information translated and modified from Yang et al. (1987)).

Diagnosis. Female: Gnathosoma : Palpal length about 1/4 length of gnathosoma. Dorsum: Coarse ornamentation on prodorsum. Tergite C with four distinct transverse rows of cells grouped between setae c1, and coarse ornamentation laterally.Tergite D with three transverse rows of cells grouped between setae d. Setae v1, sc2, c1, c2 and h unmodified in shape. Setae v1 shorter than sc2 (~ 23 and ~ 30, respectively). Setae c1, c2 and h similar in length (~ 17). Setae c1 inserted near midlength of tergite C. Setae d, e and f leaf-shaped. Setae d and f different in shape (ensiform and lanceolate, respectively), width (~ 5 and ~ 8, respectively) but similar in length (~ 35). Setae e asymmetrical in shape, shorter than d and f, but as long as h (~ 17). Setae f ~12 distant from each other, on rounded tubercles. Venter: Tegula truncate, slightly arched posteriorly. All apodemes distinct. Apodemes 2 not fused to prosternal apodeme. Poststernal apodeme bifurcated anteriorly. Legs: sensory cluster of tibiotarsus I complete. Seta tc” of tarsus II slender and serrate. Male: described posteriorly ( Lin et al., 2000). Dorsum: Setae v1 and v2 shorter than sc1 (~ 21, ~15 and ~ 27, respectively). Setae sc1 as long as sc2. Setae c1 as long as c2 (~ 22), both shorter than d (~ 25). Setae f longer than all opisthosomal setae (~ 29). Venter: Apodemes 5 distinct at posterior end of poststernal apodeme. Legs: Sensory cluster of tibiotarsus I complete. Solenidion ω of tarsus II length 10. On femorogenu IV, seta v’ G around four times longer than v’ F (~ 26 and ~ 6, respectively). On tibia IV, seta v’ Ti very long compared to other setae (~ 60). Larva: unknown.

Type material deposition: holotype ♀ deposited at DBFU .

Locality: Shanghai, China ( Yang et al. 1987 — type series locality); Nanjing , China ( Lin et al. 2000).
