( Figs. 51–53)

Daidalotarsonemus fossae De Leon, 1956: 165 ; Smiley, 1972: 93; Lindquist, 1986: 319; Lin & Zhang, 2002: 60.

Diagnosis. Female: Gnathosoma : Palpal length about 1/2 length of gnathosoma. Dorsum: Prodorsum ornamented with longitudinal depressions. Tergite C with reticulation distinct. Tergite D with cells grouped between setae d. Setae v1 and h unmodified in shape. Setae sc2 stout and linear. Setae c1, c2, d, e and f stout and clavate. Setae v1 slightly shorter than sc2 (~ 27 and ~ 30, respectively). Setae c1 slightly longer than c2 (~ 27 and ~ 30, respectively). Setae c1 inserted near posterior border of tergite C. Posterior setae d, e and f different in length (~ 20, ~ 15 and ~ 22, respectively) but similar in width (~ 4). Setae f ~16 distant from each other, on rounded tubercles. Setae h shorter than posterior setae d, e and f (~ 13). Venter: Tegula rounded, distinctly arched posteriorly. All apodemes distinct. Apodemes 2 not fused to prosternal apodeme. Poststernal apodeme bifurcated anteriorly. Legs: sensory cluster of tibiotarsus I complete. Seta tc” of tarsus II slender but serrate. Male & larva: unknown.

Redescription:

Gnathosoma : subtriangular in ventral view, length 40, maximum width 26. Setae dgs 15 and vgs 12 smooth; palps length 17, with two small subterminal setae and terminal projections. Pharynx length 13, maximum width 7.

Idiosoma—dorsum: length 193, width at level of c1 108. Prodorsal shield ornamented with longitudinal depressions. Tergites C reticulate medially. Tergite D reticulate around setae d. Lengths of setae: v1 27, sc1 14, sc2 30, c1 22, c2 19, d 20, e 15, f 22 and h 13. Maximum widths of posterior setae: d 4, e 3 and f 4. All dorsal setae serrate; c1, c2, d, e and f coarsely scaled. Setae v1 stout and unmodified; sc2 stout; c1, c2, d, e and f stout and capitate; h slender. All inserted on tubercles, except for h. Distances between dorsal setae: v1–v1 29, sc2–sc2 49, v1–sc2 24, c1–c1 55, c2–c2 79, c1–c2 36, d–d 44, f–f 16, e–f 13 and h–h 26. Setae sc2 inserted at same level to sc1.

Idiosoma—venter: setae 1a 7; 2a 11; 3a 12 near anteromedial margins of apodemes 3; 3b 9 on posterior ends of apodemes 4. Apodemes 1 conspicuous, fused to anterior end of prosternal apodeme. Apodemes 2 short and not fused to prosternal apodeme. Prosternal apodeme conspicuous from junction with apodeme 1 to apodemes 2 and inconspicuous from that point to sejugal apodeme. Sejugal apodeme uninterrupted. Apodeme 3 extending diagonally from proximity of base of seta 3a to anterior margin of trochanter III. Apodeme 4 extending diagonally from midlength of poststernal apodeme to base of seta 3b. Poststernal apodeme bifurcated anteriorly. Fissures laterad trochanters III, diagonally positioned from anterior end of apodemes 4 to posterior margin of metapodosomal ventral plate. Tegula 13 wide and 6 long; posterior margin medially arched. Setae ps 7 smooth.

Legs: Lengths: leg I 55, leg II 47, leg III 84. Number of setae: leg I: 3-4-5(2)+7(1), leg II: 3-3-4-4(1), leg III: 1+2-4-4. Tarsal solenidion ω of tibiotarsus I 5. Sensory cluster of tibiotarsus I complete, solenidion φ1 3, slender, capitate; solenidion φ2 4, robust, slightly capitate; famulus k 6; all inserted at approximately same level. Seta d of tibiotarsus I 18, serrate. Solenidion ω of tarsus II length 4. Seta d of tibia II 14, serrate. Femorogenu IV 23; tibiotarsus IV 9. Length of leg IV setae: v’ F 7, v’ G 11, v´ Ti 18 and tc” 29; all setae smooth; v’ Ti tapered.
